- Yearly Part D out-of-pocket costs will be capped at $2,000, starting in 2025. You’ll also have the option to pay out-of-pocket costs in monthly amounts over the plan year, instead of when they happen.
- More vaccines covered
People with Medicare Part D drug coverage now pay nothing out-of-pocket for even more vaccines. Your Part D plan won’t charge you a copayment or apply a deductible for vaccines that the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices recommends, including the vaccines for shingles, whooping cough, and more. - Insulin costs
Your Medicare drug plan can’t charge you more than $35 for a one-month supply of each Part D-covered or Part B-covered insulin, and you don’t have to pay a deductible. You’ll pay $35 (or less) for a one-month supply of each covered insulin product, even if you get Extra Help to lower your prescription drug costs.
If you get a 3-month supply of insulin, your costs can’t be more than $105 ($35 for each month’s supply). - Medicare Prescription Payment Plan
If your monthly RX cost is over $600 then you might benefit from a new payment program that will be managed by the insurance carriers. The pharmacy will be reimbursed initially, and then the carrier will bill you for partial payments on your prescriptions over the following months left in your plan year.
You will see your normal premiums billed and a bill for your prescriptions in the payment plan. (Automatic termination of enrollment in the payment plan program due to none payment of 2 consecutive months).
You can switch plans mid year, but you will still be responsible for the costs that you have for your prescriptions.
This is a program suited for those people likely to hit their $2,000 out of pocket max, who would benefit from making those payments over a few months.
