I’ve always been the type to add a little humor into everything that I do.
Even when I introduce myself “Hi, I’m Miss Katie your insurance lady… I help seniors navigate Medicare and help people anticipate & prefund their funeral costs … It’s riveting stuff, I know.. People love me at dinner parties.”

If I could live in a world where every child had at least $10,000 in life insurance and adults all had enough money set aside for their funeral expenses… I think the world would be a entirely different place. We could grieve without worry of the costs to say goodbye. Losing someone wouldn’t also put us in a tailspin because we don’t know where the money will come from…
Life insurance on children is so affordable; $5-50 a month depending on how old the child is and how much death benefit you’d like. A coffee a month.. I know we don’t want to talk about it or even think about it, but I see nearly every day someone crowd funding funeral costs. And the fact is, the costs will exist, we will all pass away. We have to enjoy the present moment, and the people we know and love everyday. Tomorrow isn’t promised.
My best friend’s little brother passed before he was even a teenager. A really aggressive cancer got him far too young. I’ve helped at funeral services for people my age, and younger. I wish we could live forever, and that we didn’t have to lose the people we love. But the best we can do is prepare for it, and enjoy the life that we have while we’re here.
